Carol Hanson
1934 - 2017

The founder of Protect Every Pet, Carol Hanson,
passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 14, 2017,
just 3 days shy of her 84th birthday.  Carol founded PEP 7 years ago.
The board members, veterinarians, and volunteers,
all intend to work hard to continue her legacy.

Adam Logan
8/19/1984 - 4/17/2016

Adam was one of our Prep Tech volunteers.
He was quiet and shy, but friendly and kind.
Missed by all here who worked with him.

Stan

Stan The Man got his name because he showed up
here at the clinic on Jan. 19, 2013, the same day Stan Musial died.
Our first official office cat, Stan supervised all of us
front desk volunteers and often acted as our paperweight.
We don't know how he ended up homeless, but he was
already an aged cat by the time he came to live here at the clinic.
We're truly thankful he got to spend his last years here where he
was loved and well taken care of.  He is missed every day.

Loveable
6/20/2015 - 7/14/2016

Loveable was our Office Cat In Training.
Sadly, also due to  FIP, he didn't live long enough to
take over the helm from Stan.  Loveable was born as a
stray at the Corner Market in Bland. Rescued from under
a truck during a heavy rain, he was brought here to PEP to
be spayed/neutered and then we were going to turn him over
to a local rescue to find a new home.  Before he could be
sent to the rescue however, everyone fell in love with him
and he was allowed to stay to become the new office cat.
We all miss and think about him everyday.

Jerre Purvis

We are sorry for the loss of one of our long-time volunteers Jerre Purvis.
She was a great friend to our founder of PEP, Carol Hanson, as they both
were part of several clubs to include the historical society and democratic club
in Owensville.  Jerre had a great sense of humor and made friends with everyone
at PEP.  Tuesdays were her favorite day to volunteer because at the end of the day
she would invite all the PEP staff to the Colorado Cafe in Bland for taco Tuesday.
Great memories!  Jerre will be greatly missed!

1946 - 2023

Lois Schuerman

6/28/46 - 1/14/23
Early in January of 2023, we lost one of our longest working and most dedicated
volunteers.  Another great friend to Carol, Lois worked for PEP from the start
of the clinic in 2010 until retiring in 2022.  Not only did she often work
everyday we were open, but she usually came in on the weekends to feed
our clinic cats and catch up on laundry if needed. She worked as the Prep Tech
or Surgery Tech, which ever was needed that day, and she often trained our new
volunteers for both positions.  It is said that no one is irreplaceable, but she
was so involved with everything here for so long, we seriously didn't know
how we would continue on without her.  Of course we have, but it hasn't been
easy and she is missed every single day.
